Here is their handy-dandy little chart to help you mark it off each week (I think you'll be able to access it). And below is a copy of my little chart showing my progress to date. I know today is the official start date, but I walked yesterday so I'm using yesterday as my start date. Another reason I'm starting as of yesterday... day 3 of each week is a day of rest. If I start my challenge as of yesterday, day 3 falls on Wednesday. We attend church on Wednesday nights so I need that day free. Trust me, Wednesday evening is hectic enough without trying to get in even 10 minutes of walking.
All of this leads up to May 22nd - the offical Walk-It Day. Weight Watchers members from all around the nation will be joining together to walk a 5K (3.1 miles). I've checked the website and found the closest event to be in Kansas City.... a bit further than I'm willing to drive at this point. I'd love to find some pals willing to walk with me in this area... maybe Lamar? Joplin? Doesn't matter to me... just so long as I make it to that 5K point. A couple WW buddies from Lamar have shown some interest... and I'm up for it!
WW has a link to a really cool Google tool: Gmaps Pedometer! Check it out... you can clock your walking path to know the distance! Click HERE for my map. This is a really neat tool I had no idea that Google offered. (A'course... I LUV GOOGLE!)
Somehow, this challenge has really motivated me. I believe it's what I've needed to get me excited about WW again. Yes, I've been a little un-motivated the past few weeks... no secret there!
Last but not least...
I'd like to give a shout out to my amazing WW leader, Rachel. At the risk of being extremely cheesy, I asked Rachel for a picture of her and I together tonight. I don't know when I'll see Rachel again because she's leaving our location. I'm dreading the change of a new leader again, but trying to keep an open mind... I hated it when the last leader, Shannon, left a few months back. But I've ended up loving Rachel and her leadership ways. She's funny, motivational, upbeat, and most of all: genuine. She's never tried to pretend that she doesn't struggle too. Which I love! So... Rachel - here's to you:
"Thanks for the past four months of motivation. You (and your "friend") are great! I loved having you around and I'm going to miss you! Best wishes to you..."
Anyone up for joining me in this challenge??? Comment if so - and check back for updates!
